Lonnie J. Hofacre, 81, of Wooster, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Wooster Community Hospital.

Lonnie was born July 6, 1935 in Apple Creek to Clarence and Margaret {Tasker} Hofacre.
He served in the United States Marine Corps.
He married Mary "Midge" J. DiOrio. She died in 2003.
Lonnie worked at Rubbermaid then for Advanced Drainage Systems. He then moved to Arizona and worked for Harrah's Casino and the Arizona State school system, retiring in 2006. Lonnie then moved back to Wooster. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was an avid Ohio sports fan.
Lonnie will be deeply missed by his children Karen (Scott) Sturgis and Tim (Melissa) Hofacre all of Wooster; grandchildren Kimberly (Aaron) Hills, Katie Sturgis, April, Ben, and Maggie Hofacre; great-grandchildren Andrew, Caleb, and Joshua Hills; brothers Clarence "Sonny" (Alice) Hofacre and John Hofacre; sisters Anna Hofacre, Caroline Cross de Vries, and Kathleen Greenwell, brother-in-law Carl Keller, and a sister-in-law Marilyn Hofacre.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his brother William Hofacre, and sisters Beverly Smith and Geneva Keller.
