Lorraine Joyce Weirick

Lorraine Joyce Weirick, 85, of Wooster, died Friday, April 1, 2022, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Wooster.
Friends may call Thursday, April 14 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will follow at 3pm with Father Stephen Moran officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
Joyce was born May 8, 1936, in Maui, Hawaii to Frank and Cecelia {Silva} Ferreira. She graduated from St Anthony High School (Maui) in 1955.
She married Jerome Tavares I in 1956, he died in 1957. She then married Nelson Eddy Weirick in 1960. He died in 1998.
Joyce worked for several companies in the Wooster area, notably as a bus driver for Triway Schools, as a clerk for Westwood Market, and for McDonalds in Wooster. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Joyce enjoyed crocheting, sewing and gardening. She loved to take pictures, as anyone who crossed paths with her knows! She had many friends from Twins Club, which she was a part of due to her twin sons Tim and Jim.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her children: Lance (Cindy) Weirick, Jim Weirick and Raylene (Mike) Hlavaty; several grandchildren: Veronica Burkey, Christina (Jason) Daugherty, Amy Tavares, Jerome (Crystal) Tavares III, Jennifer (Larry) Bradberry, Angela Haney, Tyler Weirick, Jessica Weirick, Michael Hlavaty, Jr., Joshua Hlavaty and David Hlavaty; and great-grandchildren; and a sister Shirley (Vern) Freitas.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Jerome and Nelson; sons: Jerome Tavares II and Timothy Weirick; and siblings: Jerry Ferreira and Gertrude Min.
