Mabel Sue Whited, 94, of Medina, died Monday, March 4, 2024 at Brookdale of Medina.
Mabel Sue Knopp was born May 28, 1929, in Jackson County, West Virginia to Clyde Otho and Renna Grace (Board) Knopp. She was their youngest daughter. From the time of her birth, she was raised in the methodist church. Her father often carried her on his lap as he rode a horse to attend services. Mabel accepted the Lord as her savior at a young age and was baptized in the creek at Penile in Roane County.
She married Hestel Lee Whited on December 25, 1947 and they raised two daughters. Together they attended the Barberton Church of God. She was an active member for many years. She also was active in Bible Study Fellowship International in Wadsworth for 5 years. Mabel enjoyed many crafts but quilting and Bible history were her most favorite. As a child and adult, music often filled the home. She once remarked that she knew at least 100 hymns by heart.
Mabel is survived by her daughters Dorothy (Fred) Jones and Ranna (Bharat) Oza, granddaughter Desiree (John) Zajacz and great-grandchildren Gabrielle and Jake Zajacz.
Mabel was preceded in death by her husband and 8 siblings.
