Marcella "Marcy" Sousa

Marcella “Marcy” Sousa, 81, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Elyria Medical Center.

Marcy was born March 22, 1941, in McAndrews, KY to Joseph and Gladys {Rowe} Short. She married John Paul Sousa on October 24, 1980. He passed away April 29, 2013.

Marcy attended Ready or Not Church in Savannah. She enjoyed crafting, watching TV, and spending time talking with her family on the phone. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Marcy will be deeply missed by her children Ralph (Sharon) Coleman of Reedsville, Trena Coan of Elyria, Pamela Peters, Marcella Marie Coleman, and Ashley Coleman all of Ashland; stepdaughter Deborah (Michael) Maynard of Lower Salem and; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters Mary (Les) Schmelhaus and Carolyn Sue (James) Mattox.

Marcy was preceded in death by her husband, John, daughter Sonya Kuttler, brother Herbert Short and a sister Betty Maynard.

Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland.  Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Melvin Helton officiating.  Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.   Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
