Margaret Hawkins

Margaret Marie Hawkins, 88, of Wooster, went to be with the Lord March 23, 2023, at Lifecare Hospice in Wooster.

Margaret was born January 11, 1935, in Wooster, Ohio to Ralph and Lillian {Amstutz} Martin.

She married James “Jim” Hawkins on December 22, 1956. Margaret graduated with a teaching degree from Grace College.

For many decades, she found great joy in teaching 4^th grade students at Wooster Township. She was a member of Grace Church where she sang in the choir, played piano, taught Sunday School, and was active in Women of Grace Missions Group.

Margaret will be deeply missed by her children Stephen (Christine) Hawkins and Rebecca (Russell) Yoder all of Wooster; grandchildren Dr. Jordan (Joshua) Garrison of Wooster, Tyler (Cathy) Yoder of Solon, OH, Taylor (Jack) Kehl of Togo, Africa, Margot (Arlin) Steiner of Dalton; great-grandchildren Kenasyn and Myla Garrison, Asher Yoder, Jack Kehl, Eilee Garrison, Joseph Kehl, Ellery Yoder, Remi Garrison, Noelle Kehl, Callan Yoder, Madeline Kehl, Aubrey and Nathan Steiner; sisters Betty (Will) Steiner of Orrville & Ruth Martin of Wooster.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and her parents.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 26, 2023, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Grace Church.  Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Pastor Robert D. Fetterhoff officiating.
