Margaret Mullen

Margaret Lucille Mullen, 84, of Wooster, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Smithville Western Care Center.
Friends may call Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will follow Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Ida Sue/ Nick Amster Workshop, 266 Oldman Rd, Wooster, OH 44691.
Lucille was born April 29, 1932 in Holmes County, Ohio to Theodore Lincoln Lilley and L. Marie {Martin} Lilley.
She was a graduate from Apple Creek High School in 1950, and received her teaching degree from The University of Akron in 1976. Lucille was affiliated with the Head Start program from 1966 to 1981. She started as a teacher's aide in the 1960's for the Wooster/Wayne Head Start Program soon becoming head teacher in the 1970's. Lucille also assisted in the opening of St. Peter's Preschool in Apple Creek, Ohio in 1982 and served as head teacher there until her retirement in 1992.
She married Clyde J. Mullen on September 9, 1950. He died May 4, 1998.
Lucille worked for many years in the 1950's- 1960's at various establishments in Wooster including Barney's Diner, El Trevador and Bishop's Drive-In. She was recognized as Mother of the Year in 1981 by the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, and honored as Apple Creek, Ohio's Outstanding Citizen of the Year in 1992. Lucille was a member of Northview Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Wooster.
Lucille will be deeply missed by her children Kenneth (Connie) Mullen and Connie (Keith) Franks; grandchildren Heidi (Greg) Lomas, Chad (Angie) Mullen, Kimberly (Max) Millhoan, and Kristopher Franks; great-grandchildren Ashley (Seth) Hershberger, Amber Miller, Cristi and Chance Lomas, Lilee, Gabby, and Allie Mullen, Jakob and Lilley Millhoan; great-great-grandchildren Alex Reeves, Maddox Graser, Raygen Miller, Ryanne Barnes, Cooper and Camdyn Hershberger, and Kinzlie Hochstetler; brothers Larry Lilley, James (Marge) Lilley, Robert Lilley, Walter (Jan) Lilley and Terry (Sandy) Lilley.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Pamela J. Mullen, parents, and brothers Cecil Martin and Garry Lilley.
