Marie L. Gasser, 93, of Wooster, passed to the loving arms of Jesus surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Apostolic Christian Home, in Rittman.
Friends may call Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Friday at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Menke officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons, 228 Parkview, Smithville, OH 44677, Chippewa Church of the Brethren, 10230 N. Marie was born September 3, 1923 in Seville to Frank and Lula {Ensinger} Haldiman.
She married Lloyd Gasser on July 26, 1941. He died in 1996.
She was member of the Chippewa Church of the Brethren, where she served as Deaconess. Marie enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting, and was known for her Strawberry Jam and cookies. She also served on the board of West View Manor. In her later years, Marie visited her friends in area nursing homes, and was always known for wearing a hat.
Marie will be deeply missed by her children Shirley (Gene) Rhodes, Colleen (Phil) Ritzi and Norma (Rob) Clason, James (Marianne) Gasser all of Wooster, daughter-in-law Deb Gasser of West Salem; grandchildren Eric (Debbie) and Tim Rhodes, Lori (Chris) Glazier, Lianne (Randy) Grimmitt, Angie (John) Giltner, Sam (Mija) and Michael (Becky) Gasser, Jackie Pineda, Chris Ritzi, Lisa (Tom) Posey, Kara (Mike) Seese, Robert III (Wendy) Clason, Andrea (Mike) Huff, and Rachael (Will) Fuqua; 19 great-grandchildren; brother Bill Haldiman; sisters Phyllis (Roy) Ramsier and Betty Lindley.
Marie was preceded in death by husband Lloyd, son Thomas, daughter Donna Hughes, brother Fred Haldiman and sisters Sylvia Bauer, Tressa Rufener, and Nina Rufener.
