Marilyn Deibel

Marilyn Jean Deibel (Scarr) 82, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2018 in Charlotte, NC. Marilyn dearly loved her family and devoted her life to their happiness. Marilyn was born on August 19, 1935, in Fresno, Ohio. Marilyn lived her entire life in Ohio until moving to Tega Cay, SC in 2017. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Curtis Deibel, her daughters Catherine Noah (Don), of Surprise AZ, Lavonne Miller of Wooster, OH and Suzanne Henkels (John) of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her great loves, her grandchildren: Tony Baker (Leah) of Winchester, VA, Sarah Sector (Chris) of Bluffton, SC, Nick Miller (Stephanie) of Colorado Springs, CO, Natalie Miller of Akron, OH, Zach Henkels of Charlotte, NC and Jacob Henkels of Chapel Hill, NC, and two great-grandchildren Mason Sector and Abigail Miller. Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Samuel Henkels. She requested that her body be donated for medical research. The family chose the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill to fulfill her wishes. Private family services are pending. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Liam’s Lighthouse Foundation for HLH research. www.liamslighthousefoundation.org. HLH is the disease that took baby Sammy in 1999.
