Marilyn "Joy" McVicker

Marilyn Joyce (Carr) McVicker, known as Joy, 85, went home to be with Jesus and her loved ones who went before her on Thursday January 18, 2018.  Previously a resident of Medina County, she recently resided in New Philadelphia.

Joy was born January 30, 1932, in Canton to Paul and Blanche {Brown} King.

She worked for many years at Reed’s Moving and Storage and later owned Carr’s Moving and Storage. She was a wiz with numbers and geography. Joy enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog Sky.  Joy loved sending cards, decorating, and celebrating Christmas.

Joy will be deeply missed by her children Brenda (Jim) Smeal, Nancy (Roger) Tyler, Joanie (Garry) Carr, Becky (Don) Snow, and Cindy (Kenny) Petrovic;  children by marriage Pamela Dawkins, Garry (Joanie) McVicker, Christopher (Laura) McVicker, and Greg (Jonna) McVicker; siblings Paul King and Donald King;  numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Robert W. Carr and Wayne D. McVicker; and brother Robert King.

Friends may call Monday, January 22, 2018, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Don Snow officiating.  Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
