Mark Alan Morrison, 70, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at County Club Rehabilitation Center, in Mount Vernon. Mark was born October 7, 1953, in Mount Vernon, OH to Donald Edward and Joyce Ellen {Turner} Morrison. He married Sharon Ann Lovett on December 24, 1977.
Mark graduated High School in 1972 then from Mount Vernon Nazarene College in 1976 with a Bachelor's in English with a minor in Religion. He then worked for the Salvation Army for several years.
Mark worked at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center as a shift supervisor and retired from there in 2001. He then worked for Seimens Energy and Rolls Royce in security. He attended Mulberry St United Methodist for some time.
He liked to take pictures when you were not looking. He always had a camera in his hand. He was a history buff and did a great deal of research, even beginning a book, but didn’t finish it. He loved research more than writing. He loved tabletop military strategy games. Whole battlefields laid out on the table. He was an avid baseball fan, and he especially loved the Cincinnati Reds. He supported Sharon’s love of penguins and took care of her MS (Multiple Sclerosis).
Mark will be deeply missed by his wife and two sons Seth (Ashley) and David Morrison; Connor Morrison, the only grandchild; his brother Paul (Shelly) Morrison and sister Ardyth (Bob) Stull.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
