Obituary
Marolyn L. DeLancey, 68, of Fleming, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family and friends.
Marolyn was born January 16, 1948 in Marietta to Creel and Zettie (Miller) Carpenter.
She graduated from Marietta High School in 1965 and from Washington State Community College in 1976 as an LPN. She retired early from the Emergency Room at Marietta Memorial Hospital in 2003. She fully retired from the Veteran's Clinic in 2010, where taking care of veterans was her passion. She attended church at the Marietta Bible Center. Since her new birth (accepting Jesus as her personal Savior) on November 8, 1976 her love was caring, sharing, praying, studying the Word of God and winning souls for Jesus. Her motto was: Love to Live and Live to Love.
She married David DeLancey on November 26, 1967. Marolyn considered David her #1 Prayer Warrior.
Marolyn will be deeply missed by her husband David; children Juanita (Randy) Williams of Marietta, Bonnita (Michael) Marks of Fleming and Sherri (Bradley) Lane of Casper, Wyoming; grandchildren – who were the joy of her life: Cody Williams, Kirstin Williams, Kayla (Aaron) Marks-Wass, Kristian Marks, Katlyn Lane, David Hunter Lane; brothers David (Ruth) Carpenter of Marietta and Earl Carpenter of Lowell; sister Barbara (Hess) Slack of Marietta; niece Janet (Byron) Plummer & son Hayden Isaac of Greenup, KY, Marolyn's adopted grandsons, David Aerial and Cody Randall from Papua New Guinea and her adopted granddaughters Marolyn Faith and Madelyn Joy from the Philippines.
Marolyn was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister Carolyn Carpenter.
Friends may visit on Friday, August 26th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Marietta Bible Center Church, 4070 St. Rt. 60, Marietta. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the Marietta Bible Center Church with Pastor Myron K. Guiler officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park.
