Martha Jane Kain

Martha Jane Kain, 88, of Wooster, died May 2, 2024 at Smithville Western Care Center, in Wooster.

Janie was born July 8, 1935 in Wooster, Ohio to John E. and Gladys {Franks} Murphy.

She married Charles Kain on December 11, 1953. 

Janie worked for Smithville Schools for over 20 years. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends, and reading. Janie was a very religious person and would always drop what she was doing to help others. She was very dedicated to her faith.

Janie will be deeply missed by her daughter Karen (Dan) Gulley of Wooster; grandchildren Adam Nieman, Bryan Nieman, Andrew (Olivia) Nieman, and Zoey Shoyat; great-grandchildren Adalyn and AJ Nieman; sister Carolyn Wellman.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, and her son Roger A. Kain.

Friends may call Thursday May 9 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Martha-Kain) with pastor Bud Olszewski.
