Martin Leonard Sonnet, 88, of Wooster, cherished husband and beloved dad and grandpa, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his residence.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster or Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, followed thereafter by a mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Father Steven Moran will officiate. Martin was born February 12, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA to August Frederick and Irene Frances {Leonard} Sonnet.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in Europe from 1943-1945.
He married Theresa Marie Tomcik on April 12, 1947. Theresa died on November 4, 2008, following 61 years of marriage.
He was a member St. Mary's Catholic Church. Martin was devoted to his family and friends.
Martin will be deeply missed by his children, Marie (Bob Berklich) Sonnet of Pittsburgh, PA, Susan Davis of Wooster, Judy Sonnet of Wooster, Andrew Sonnet of Carlsbad, CA and Matthew (Mary) Sonnet of Stroudsburg, PA.; grandchildren, Jane, Anna, Martin, Mark, Laura, Luke, Scott, Julie and Heidi; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ryan, Justin, Mariah, Sean and Jaxson and sister Irene Sonnet.
Martin was preceded in death by his son, Mark Daniel.
