Mary Lou Gilbert, 83, of Wooster, died Friday, March 6, 2015 at West View Healthy Living surrounded by her loving family.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kirk Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association at 70 W. Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236 or West View Healthy Living Auxiliary at 1715 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
Mary Lou was born January 28, 1932 in Plain Township to Frank and Georgia {Rottman} Bowersock.
She married Vincent Gilbert on January 28, 1950. He survives.
Mary Lou worked at Freedlanders and she also worked as a bookkeeper for her husbands business. She attended First Church of God. Mary Lou enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and was an avid bowler. She was a Cub Scout leader and was involved in the Wooster Township PTA. Mary Lou loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Mary Lou will be deeply missed by her husband, Vincent, of 65 years; children Frank (Linda) Gilbert of Fredericksburg, Frederick (Peggy) Gilbert and Lori (Mark) Lehman both of Wooster; grandchildren Ben (Lue) Gilbert, Ryan (London) Gilbert, Rebecca Gilbert, Charlie (Santana) Gilbert, Matthew (Ashley Bardo) Gilbert, John (Brandi) Gilbert, Nicole (Matt) Peters and Jenn Lehman; great-grandchildren Jenna, Tyler, Keith, Jaymes, Roman, Deacon, Jayson, McKenna and Annabelle; sister Jean Sigler of Shreve.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill Joliff, sisters Juanita Landaw, Betty Merillat and Joan Arnold.
