Mary Jane Hahn

Mary Jane Hahn, 89, of Wooster, died Sunday, December 10, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mary was born November 1, 1934 in Wooster to C. Dwight and F. Camilla {Bower} Johnson.

She married Richard E. Hahn on February 28, 1952. He died January 10, 2023.

Mary worked as a secretary at Smithville High School for 9 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of the First Church of God. Mary loved collecting bears, camping at Clays Park, wintering in Florida, bowling, spending time with her family members, attending her children’s, grand kid’s, and great grand kid’s sporting events, playing Fast Pitch Softball, and bird watching. She was a member of Mothers Club of Smithville, Cub Scout Leader, and choir member at First Church of God in Wooster.

Mary will be deeply missed by her children Denny E. (Barbara) Hahn of Wooster and Cheryl L. (John) Foster of Smithville; grandchildren Ashley (Troy) Ullman, Andy Foster and special friend Brianna and her daughter Harper, and Allison Foster; great-grandchildren Alexis and special friend Sam, Landin, Mekhi, Paris, Finn, and Hadley; sister-in-law Joyce Johnson; and constant companion Honeybear.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 70 years, brothers W. Roger Johnson, Robert D. Johnson, and sister Marjorie L. Johnson Croft.

Friends may call Friday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will follow at 1 at the funeral home (and livestreamed at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com/obituaries/Mary-Hahn) with Pastor Randy Moomaw officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
