Mary Ellen Hefner, 81, Hayesville, OH passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016 at Samaritan University Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born April 3, 1935 in Kincheloe, WV, the daughter of Melvin and Sylvia (Carder) Titus.
Mary married David Hefner on November 27, 1965. He passed away on May 1, 2008.
Over the years Mary worked at the Weston Laundry, Myers Laundry, Cresco, Bretheran Care Nursing Home and retired from Hyco. Mary was an avid seamstress her entire life making many quilts for her family. Mary will be remembered for always welcoming anyone into her home and treating them like family.
Mary will be missed by her children Diane Bowman, Wayne (Stacy) Hefner and Rose Ann (Bob), Mack all of Ashland, sisters Ruby (Charlie) Dennison of Kincheloe, WV, Emma Lou (Earl) Jeffries of Weston, WV, Carol (Rick) Logan of Uhrichsville, OH, Teresa Titus of Uhrichsville, OH, brothers Arnette (Doris) Titus of Painesville, OH, Frank (Marlene) Titus of Madison, OH, Bill Titus of Carrolton, OH, Larry Titus of Jeromesville, OH, grandchildren Tabitha Rhodes, Shelly Johnson, Sarah (Jason) Harnish, Charlie Johnson, Shelby Hefner, Toshia (Steve) Reed, Nicole Lindecamp, Derek Williams, Michael Hay, Brandon Hefner, 17 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband in 2008, her parents and a brother, Basil.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 7th from 2 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home – Ashland Chapel at 1058 US 250 N, Ashland, OH 44805 with Rev. Keith Tyson officiating the 3 p.m. funeral service. Private burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park.
