Mary Evelyn Polen, 81, of Wooster, died March 7, 2014 at the Wayne County Care Center.
Private funeral services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Polen officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice at 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster, OH 44691 or Wayne County Care Center at 876 S. Geyers Chapel Road, Wooster, OH 44691.
Mary was born August 12, 1932 in Woodsfield, Ohio to Alfred and O'Dessa {Hunter} Davis.
She worked at Wooster Community Hospital for 13 years and GMN Tri County for 18 years, retiring in 1997. Mary also volunteered and worked at the Red Cross and was a Boy Scout Leader. She enjoyed gardening and helping take care of her daughters' horses.
Mary will be deeply missed by her children Dave (Denise) Polen and Debbie (John) Stoler both of Apple Creek; grandchildren David (Jennifer) Polen, Brian (Tammy) Polen, and Jeff (Jodi) Polen, John (Heidi) Stoler, Jennifer (Karl) Parry and Janet (Cody) Ash; sister Delores Nalley of Woodsfield; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Davis, William Davis, Edwin Davis, Harlan Davis, Robert Davis, Herbert (Bettie) Davis; sisters, Mae Parks, Esther Ferris, Francis Molina, Gertrude Davis and Eileen Yost.
The family would like to thank LifeCare Hospice and Wayne County Care Center, especially nurses Danny, Allison, Laura and nurse Nolena at Wooster Community Hospital.
