Mary "Susie" Varney

Mary “Susie” Elizabeth Varney, 72, of Wadsworth, died Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Alter Care of Wadsworth.

Mary was born April 11, 1951, in Milton, WV to James Robert and Winifred Dorothy {Chapman} Weaver. She graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1969.

Mary worked for Akron General Medical Center for 16 years then for Summa Health System in Akron for 18 years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, watching movies and attending family functions. Mary was active in Wadsworth High School Marching Band events for her children from 1989 to 1997.

Mary will be deeply missed by her children Stacey Spinder of Windham and Brandon (Kelly) Varney of Willoughby; 3 grandchildren Allison Adkins and Ben and Winnie Varney; sisters-in-law Betty Weaver of Katy, Texas and Sharon Weaver of Richmond, Indiana and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brothers James and Terry Weaver.

Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville.  Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Scott officiating.  Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Seville.
