Maxine was born October 29, 1926 in Doylestown to Sebastian Frank and Dortha Elizabeth (Shane) Drouhard. She worked for the Wooster Toy Company, Harris Paint and New Era Potato Chip Company prior to marrying James Franklin Wright on January 23, 1948. Jim preceded her in death on November 11, 1991.
After raising their children, Maxine enjoyed working for Gold Star and Perkins restaurants in Wooster. She was an excellent cook and always eager to share her meatloaf, macaroni salad and graham cracker pie recipes, all of which included dashes of this, pinches of that and a couple shakes of salt. According to her grandchildren, she also made the best toast ever!
Until her eyesight failed, Maxine was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, and always had a jigsaw puzzle under construction. Jim inevitably snatched a piece of each puzzle keeping it hidden until he could pull if out of his pocket and solve the puzzle. In recent years, Maxine looked forward to her Tuesday morning card games with her son, Al. She was a tried and true Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed listening to games on the radio.
Maxine is survived by her son Allan (Kathy) Wright, daughter Connie (Charles) Lepold and son-in-law Michael DiMaio, all of Wooster; 7 grandchildren, Brian (Penny) Eshleman, Melissa (Barth) Snyder, Erin (Mark) Rutherford, all of Wooster, Kim DiMaio of Columbus, Rita Lepold of Apple Creek, Becky (Jon) Miller of Greenville, SC and Doug (Amy) Lepold of Shreve; 8 great-grandchildren, Karissa and Zack Eshleman, Devan, Colton and Brody Snyder, Ethan Rutherford, Gracelynn Lepold and Brendy Rutherford; brothers, Glenn "Pete" Drouhard, Frank Drouhard, Richard (Genie) Drouhard, all of Wooster; sisters-in-law Helen Lockwood of Marysville and Maxine Vicario of Bellefontaine; numerous additional family members and several good friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy DiMaio on November 30, 2013; sister and brother-in-law Bernice (Harold) Barker; brothers and sisters-in-law Floyd (Iona) Drouhard, Robert (Anna) Drouhard, and Larry Drouhard; sisters-in-law Donna R.
