Melissa Esh

Melissa Joy {Winey} Esh, 41, of Lafayete, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the early hours of December 9th after a short illness.

Melissa was born October 21st, 1979 in Orrville, OH to Nancy and Craig Winey. Melissa was intelligent, creative, and passionate. She loved literature, spending me with her nieces and nephew, and traveling. Her lifelong enthusiasm for education culminated in her doctoral work in Purdue University’s Curriculum Studies program. She was to graduate in the Spring of 2021 and will receive her degree posthumously. Melissa is survived by her parents, Nancy {Steiner} and Craig Winey; sister and family, Kara {Winey} and Adam Musser, Natalie, and Savanna; brother and family, Aaron and Stephanie Winey, Jackson, and Audrie; and maternal grandparents, Norma and Don Steiner. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Doris and Ralph Winey. The family thanks Ohio’s Lifecare Hospice for their loving care and support during this difficult me.
