Melvin M. Britton, 80, of Rittman, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Barberton Hospital.
Melvin was born February 29, 1936 in Chatham to Clement and Hazel {Hall} Britton.
He married Bonnie Grimm on November 18, 1980.
Melvin worked at Morton Salt for 45 years before retiring in 1993. He also worked at Sterling feed mill for 25 years, and Rittman schools for 10 years. In his spare time, Melvin liked to fish, garden, and build birdhouses. He especially enjoyed swinging with Bonnie on their swing.
Melvin will be deeply missed by his wife of 36 years; children Julie, Belinda, Chris, Melvin Jr., Tonnie, Marlene, Kathy, Debbie, George, Juanita, Jodie, Matt and Mark; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and special family members Dean Leach and Cheryl Heater.
Melvin was preceded in death by his five sisters, four brothers, infant son Jimmy and great grandson Lane.
Memorial services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville with Pastor Chad Booth officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Barberton Hospice and Palliative Care, 527 W. Tuscarawas Ave., Barberton OH 44203.
