Melvin Carpenter, 74, died June 13, 2015 in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was born September 4, 1940 to Pearley and Florence Carpenter. Melvin was retired veteran of the U.S. Army who serving during the Vietnam War. In civilian life, he retired from Riverside Manufacturing in Savannah, Georgia.
Melvin will be deeply missed by his wife Caroline Gnann; daughter Angela (Bud) Smith; sons Steven Carpenter, Chad (Kelly) Carpenter, Terry Carpenter, Randy Carpenter, Matthew (Kelly) Gnann, Nicholas Gnann; grandchildren Matthew (Chasidy), Joyce (Joe), Brittany (Kevin), Valeria (Chris), Sarah (Vincent), Jennifer (Matt), Kyle, Kaitlyn, Jaden, Ariel and Sebastian; brother Don Carpenter; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Lillie Carpenter; son Mel Carpenter; brother Dell Warfield; sister Karen Carter; grandson John Carpenter.
