Melvin C. Knowlton

Melvin C. Knowlton, 86, of Ashland, died Friday, October 20, 2023 at Brethren Care Village.

Melvin was born August 28, 1937 in Ashland, Ohio to Melvin and Opal {Aufrance} Knowlton.

He graduated from Ashland High School.

He married Elizabeth M. Strickling on June 21, 1958. She died November 30, 2017. 

Melvin retired from Ashland Chemical. He enjoyed fishing, taking pictures and videos, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Melvin will be deeply missed by his daughters Melinda (Chris) Stanford of Ashland, Christine Hootman of Ashland and Jennifer Knowlton of Ashland; four grandchildren, Niles Hootman, Sierra (Joshua Knight) Knowlton, Kamrin (Bailey Jones) Knowlton Goings and Dakota Knowlton-Buckner; great granddaughters Ava Heintz, Ella Knight.

Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, brother Howard and sister Judy Heitzman and his parents.
