Muriel Jones

Muriel Dorthiea Jones, 89, of Wadsworth, died Friday, November 30, 2018 at Apostolic Christian Home, in Rittman.

She was born August 10, 1929 in Weakley County, Tennessee to David Alexander and Inez {Murrell} Mathis.

She married Fred E. Jones, and they were together nearly 70 years before his passing in December of 2014.

Muriel retired from Wadsworth City Schools cafeteria and in the summers was in charge of the kitchen at Ohio Baptist Acres. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at the Akron Baptist Temple. Muriel enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to Mohican and Amish Country. She most loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Muriel will be deeply missed by her children Freddie R. (Dorothy) Jones of Wadsworth, Dr. Edna (Valerie McGuire) Jones of Gahanna, and Connie (Mark) Ralston of Wadsworth; grandchildren Andrew (Desirea) Ralston of Jackson, Ashleigh (Pete) Alexander of Mogadore, Avery Ralston of Akron, and Christopher Jones of Gahanna; great-granddaughters Carleigh Anna and Joslynn McKenzie Alexander.

Muriel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred, five brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville.  Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Tim Ramsier officiating.  Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.   Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
