Norman W. Herzog, 90, of Wooster, died Monday, March 17, 2014 at West View Manor.
A private burial will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Roberts Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements for the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to People To People Ministries, 454 E. Bowman St., Wooster, OH 44691.
Norman was born June 4, 1923 in Canton to Alexander and Ethel {Harris} Herzog.
He was a Seaman in the United States Navy during World War II.
Norman married Eleanor Mary (Mansfield) on September 30, 1950. She died in 2008.
After working for East Ohio Gas for 33 years, he retired as district manager in 1983. Norman was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was very involved with United Way, Chamber of Commerce and the City Planning Commission. Norman was also involved with the Rotary Club of Wooster, where he was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship.
Norman will be deeply missed by his sons Curtis (Lisa) of Wooster, William (Terry) of Shawnee Hills and Craig of Wooster; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, of 58 years; sisters Lola and Mabel.
