Oren Ledford Faren, 86, of Nova, died Monday October 27, 2014 at MedCentral Hospital, in Mansfield after a short illness.
Oren was born May 13, 1928 in McDonald, PA to David Maddison and Ida Vernon {Stone} Faren.
Oren was in the United States Army and served during World War II.
He married Alta Rose Moore on December 7, 1953.
Oren retired from CSX Railroad after 41 years. He also operated a family farm for many years. Oren was a member of the Nova Community United Methodist Church. He was active in the Masonic #313 Sullivan for 43 years, as well as VFW and Eagles. Oren enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Oren will be deeply missed by his wife, Rose, of 60 years; children Gail (Jim Gornall) Crossen and Oren "Matt" (Maria) Faren; grandchildren Kerry, Breanne, Bethany, Tarah and Amanda; 10 great-grandchildren.
Oren was preceded in death by his 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Masonic funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with a graveside service immediately following with Br. Harry Finkbone officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park, where military rites will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Nova Community United Methodist Church at 257 State Route 511, Nova, OH 44859.
