Paul Stanley France, 87, of Wooster, died Monday, September 26, 2016 at his residence.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Tobias officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 North Market St. Wooster, Ohio 44691.
Paul was born July 14, 1929 in Wooster, Ohio to Brighton and Margaret {Gordon} France.
He served in the US Air Force as a tech sergeant during WWII.
He married Sandra Wood on April 30, 1966.
Paul worked for Conrail for 25 years before retiring in the early 1990`s. He then retired from the Air Force Reserves after 40 years in 1992. Paul was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes and lottery tickets. He was a past master of the Ebenezer Lodge #33, was a member of the Knights Templar, Royal Arch Mason, Scottish Rite and the Eastern Star.
Paul will be deeply missed by his wife; children Pamela France of Wooster, Paula (Sharon Ray) Elliott of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren Stephanie (Shane) Lemon, Alexandra Elliott.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brother Glenn, Richard, Ray, Roy; sister June.
