Paul M. "Snook" Gleim, 69 of Wooster, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, June 23, 2016 after a brief struggle with cancer.
Services will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home – Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Chad Palmer of Mohican church of the Brethren officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 3 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Wooster Oilers c/o Alice Noble Ice Arena at 851 Oldman Rd, Wooster, OH 44691.
Paul was born in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania on June 3, 1947 to the late Paul M. Gleim and Dorothy J. (Lewis) Gleim. He graduated from Williamsburg High School and entered into the United States Air Force before working as an EMT for Altoona Hospital in Pennsylvania. Paul then joined Williamsburg law enforcement. He married Karen Shaffer on March 31, 1973. Paul then served as chief of the Williamsburg local fire station.
Paul eventually moved to Ohio where he worked for Armstrong Drilling of Wooster before joining the Ohio State University's research operations before retiring. He enjoyed oil painting, amateur radio and hockey. Paul was also involved in the American Legion Post 68 where he was a past commander as well as working with the Wooster Oilers junior hockey team.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Karen Joan Gleim along with two children; James and Heather Gleim of Charlotte, North Carolina and Michael and Crystal Gleim of Columbus, Ohio; 2 grandchildren, Alec Gleim and Ava Gleim; 3 siblings, Sharon Gleim of Williamsburg, Pennsylvania, Donald Gleim of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and Jim Gleim of Williamsburg, Pennsylvania; and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives.
