Paul Joseph Kennison, age 63, of Danville, OH, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024 at his home in Danville. Paul was born November 16, 1961 in Columbus, OH to Perl Henry and Wilma Jean (Bennett) Kennison. He was blessed and fortunate to be raised by loving foster parents, the late Edward Hildreth and Carolyn Hildreth.
Paul attended Canal Winchester High School, where he maintained a 4.0 GPA, was elected Junior Class President and was named Captain of his Basketball team, a team that went to the State Championship. Growing up, he was a member of 4H and rode equine equitation, competing at the State Fair and other competitions. He rode Carolyn’s Crystal Bell, an American Saddlebred horse. After High School, Paul received a full scholarship from Bowling Green University, majoring in Social Work.
Paul’s main loves were Ohio State Football (Go Bucks!) and his animals. He especially loved his dogs. Paul worked in the remodeling business. He attended Covenant Church in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and had many wonderful and loving friends there as well as from the countries of Haiti and Honduras.
On October 9, 1993, Paul married the love of his life, Karen (Hildreth) Kennison. Together, they shared five children: Zachary Joseph (Lizz) Kennison, Matthew David Middleton, Mindy (Derek) Middleton Santan, Micah John (Ericka) Middleton and Jonathan David (Stephanie) Middleton. Paul and Karen are blessed with 12 grandchildren that are all so special to them. He will also be deeply missed by his family, including his brother Mark (Rhonda) Kennison, nephew Mark (Ashley) Kennison, brothers Jeff (Shelley) Hildreth and Todd (Melanie) Hildreth; sister-in-law Karlyn (Brad) Brown and his nieces Michelle (Andrew) Heuss and Kristen (Sam) Vollmar.
Paul was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jean Kennison and his brothers Kenneth, Bruce, Dale (Paul’s twin) and Bill Kennison.
