Paul Slota, 89, of Doylestown, died Wednesday, November 07, 2018 at Doylestown Healthcare.
Paul was born April 13, 1929 in Doylestown to Steven and Mary {Sudlich} Slota.
He was a graduate of Doylestown High School. Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He married Frances Elizabeth Walsh on April 24, 1954.
Paul worked for the Ohio Brass Company, and then at Schneider National Carriers until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wadsworth. Paul loved to golf and bowl, participating in several leagues. He was also a life member and officer of the Jednota Club. Paul was proud of his vegetable garden, and canned and sold the fruits of his labor. He and Frances were known for their dance moves, teaching their children through the years. Paul cooked from the heart, and was known especially for his cabbage rolls, paprikash, stuffed peppers and chicken soup.
Paul will be deeply missed by his children Carolyn (Jerry) Rooks of Wadsworth, Paul (Kathleen) Slota of Westfield Center, Kevin (Lisa) Slota of Wadsworth, Jeannette (Marc) Willis of Norton and Rose (Bill) Edwards of Culpeper, VA; grandchildren Elizabeth, Stephanie, Brett, Jeremy, Chris, Nathan, Andrew, Mikayla, Christina, Jennifer, Laura, Bill and Kristen; 25 great-grandchildren; sister Veronica Friedt.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and thirteen siblings.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. A Rosary service will begin at the funeral home at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown with Father John Kumse and Father Robert Stein officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
