Pauline Elloise Burkey - Lally

Pauline Elloise Burkey-Lally, 93, of Doylestown, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024, at her residence with her family by her side.

Pauline was born on August 19, 1931, in Ashland to Della (Dague) and Jesse Perkins and later adopted by Lloyd and Mabel Irene Jacobs. She graduated from Wellington High School and then Riggs Lemar Beauty College. She married Theodore G. Burkey on August 1, 1951. He passed away on October 9, 1994. She then married William D. Lally on August 5, 2010. He passed away on November 28, 2020. Pauline worked at the JM Smucker Company for 21 years, retiring in 1994.

She enjoyed flower gardening, putting puzzles together, reading, watching her nightly game shows and swimming at the YMCA until her health began to decline in recent years.

Pauline will be deeply missed by her children Phyllis Summers (Dave Conrow), Theodore (Ted) Burkey II (Marilyn Graybill), Shirley (Bob) Hopkins and Jenice (Jeff) McEndree; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Helen Sferra, Betty Coy and brother Larry Mumaw.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Perkins and Della Kaufman, adopted parents, Lloyd and Mabel Irene {Moorehead} Jacobs; husbands, Theodore Burkey and William Lally; son Donald Burkey; grandchildren Angela Simmons, Allison and Rebecca Burkey, siblings Jack Perkins, Fred Perkins, Jean Lux, and Geraldine Johnson. 

Friends may visit Saturday, December 21 from 11a.m. to 12p.m. at Crossroads Community Church, 700 Gates St. in Doylestown. A memorial service will follow at 12p.m. at the church with Pastor Bob Combs officiating. A private committal service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
