Phyllis J. Sparks

Phyllis J. “Sparky” Sparks, 77, of Ashland, was called home February 3, 2023 at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Phyllis was born February 4, 1945 in Akron, OH to Forrest and Juanita Sparks.

She worked for Faultless- Abbott before retiring.  She was a life member of Amvets Post 96 of Ashland. Sparky loved playing Softball and watching Basketball. She was an avid Michael Jordon fan and enjoyed going to watch the Ashland Eagles Womans Basketball Team. One of her favorite things to do was to go out to eat with her friends. She also enjoyed kicking back in her recliner with her dog, Lacey.

Phyllis will be deeply missed by her life companion JoAnn Taskey; children Russell (Chris) Watts and Rita (John) West; grandchildren Zach (Amber) Perry, Michael (Taylor) Watts, Eric Watts, Alyssa (Kristian) Carpenter, and Johnny West; great-grandchildren Bentli, Lincoln, Braxton, Waylon, Lailah, Aria, Kinslee, and Jayson. Phyllis will also be missed by nephews Ted (Patti) Aukerman, David (Melody) Aukerman; many cousins; and many lifelong friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, brother Forrest Jr., sisters Geraldine, Janice, and Carolyn; grandson Jeremy; great granddaughters Kansas, and Caroline.

Friends may call Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland.  Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.  Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
