R. Wolf

R. Carter Wolf, beloved husband, father, brother, friend, first responder, and coach entered God's nearer presence, September 23.
He was 67 and is survived by his wife Jennifer (Baughman), daughter Stephanie, and sons Rev. Christopher B. (Jennifer) Wolf and Ryan D. (Melissa) Wolf. He had four grandchildren: Brian, Madelyn, Charlotte, and Sophia. He is also survived by his sister Stephanie (Wolf) Freund, his sister-in-law Tameria Martin and his niece Rachel (Ryan) Ashley. His first wife, Kathleen (Chapman) Wolf died in 2000.
Carter, as he was known, graduated Fair Lawn High School in 1965. He attended Park College in Kansas. R. Carter had a distinguished career in advertising and marketing with various firms and companies in the North Jersey area. He was a 25-year member and past president of the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He also served the community through the Fair Lawn Recreation Department at the Canteen/Youth Center and at Memorial Pool. R. Carter was a celebrated little league baseball coach for various town and travel teams. R. Carter dedicated his life to volunteering. Most recently, he resided in Wooster, Ohio, where he served as a classroom volunteer at Wayne Elementary School.
Last December he was diagnosed with Leukemia and battled it valiantly through treatments, chemotherapy and was considered to be in remission. He loved sports, classical music, and science fiction. R. Carter was considered a mentor and encourager to many young people. He leaves a legacy of service and community involvement.
Friends may call Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel in Wooster.
