Raymond "Al" Allen Gatten

Raymond “Al” Allen Gatten, 89, of Rittman, died Friday, October 18, 2024, at his residence.

Al was born March 4, 1935, in Smith Township, Ohio to Stanley H. and Inez {Parker} Gatten.

He graduated from Belmont High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 till 1958.

He married Edith “Marie” Yoe on February 9, 1958. She survives. 

He worked for PCA in Rittman for 44 years. He was a member of the Rittman Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing off his pontoon boat.

Al will be deeply missed by his wife; children Michelle Marie (Jeff) Fry of Bellville, Rachelle Ann (Troy) Croskey of Smithville, Mark Allen (Janet) Gatten of Wooster, Gary Lee (Teresa) Gatten of Creston, Kathleen Elizabeth (Alan) Smith of Orrville; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Don, Stanley Jr., Glenn (Shirley) Gatten; and sister Barbara Price.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, grandchild Stanley and great-grandchild Payton.

Friends may call Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Hatten officiating.
