Raymond David Cherilla, 79, of Wooster, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Charlotte Glasgo officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
Ray was born January 16, 1937 in Bradford, Pennsylvania to Raymond and Joan {Carl} Cherilla.
He was a graduate of Bradford High School, class of 1954.
Ray was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia serving the Navy for 4 years.
He married Patricia Ann Krajcik on April 12, 1958.
Ray worked for Rubbermaid Inc. for 37 years where he retired in 1995. He loved to golf, go camping, and spending time with his family and friends.
Ray will be deeply missed by his wife Patricia; sons Christopher David Cherilla and Gregory Allan (Vicki) Cherilla both of Wooster, daughter Beth Ann Smith of Greenwich; 5 grandchildren; great-grandchildren Miranda and Marissa Smith, Braylon and Austin Westrick, Ayden Edwards, Parker Cherilla; brother Robert (Bonnie) Cherilla of Wooster, and a host of family and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joan Smail.
