After graduating high school, Jim entered the United States Air Force. He served in Texas for four years, moving to Ohio where he lived his remaining life. He worked for U.S. Foods, Borgoner, Singer Products and Feron Felsted. He had surrendered to preach the world of God not long after coming to Ohio. Although he was bi-vocational, God's work was always first. He served God throughout many areas of Ohio, naming a few such as Ashland, Bellville, Gallion, Massillon, Mansfield, Plymouth, Shiloh and Shreve where he pastored 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of 64 years, his son Randall W. (Linda) Dye, a daughter Sandy "Sis" Arman, and grandson Jason (Devon) Dye and great-grandson Jaxon Dye. Also surviving is a brother Robert Dye and Donald Dye of West Virginia.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandson Andy, who we are sure met him at Heaven's door. Also a brother Tommy, a brother William "Pete", and sisters Caroline "Katie" Burnsworth, and Betty King, as well as his parents.
