Rex Sprowls

April 19, 1934 — October 6, 2015

Rex Warden Sprowls, 81, of Wooster, went home to be with Jesus Tuesday October 6, 2015 at LifeCare Hospice surrounded by his family.
Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 am at Grace Church with Pastor Bob Fetterhoff officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Roberts Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
Rex was born April 19, 1934 in Wooster, Ohio to Dr. Clarence Warden and Nora Lucille {Fry} Sprowls.
He graduated from Wooster High School in 1952, he then went on to graduate from LeTourneau Techinal Institute now LeTourneau University with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1956.
He married Vida J. {Daugherty} on September 25, 1952.
Rex worked for Chrysler Corp. in Detriot, and then he worked for PPG in Barberton. Rex then went to work for Container Corp. of America in Piqua, OH. He worked as Chief Engineer and Director of Building Services for Wooster Community Hospital and Medina Community Hospital and Galion Hospital. In 1985 he opened Pappy's Auto Clinic and worked there until he retired in 1997. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Mid-Ohio Mopar Club. He also loved going to car shows and swap meets. Rex was a member of Grace Church. He loved spending time with his family and good friends.
Rex will be deeply missed by his wife Jerri of 63 years; children Kathy Moore, Darrel Sprowls, Jack (Debbie) Sprowls, Pam (Rod) Fought; grandchildren Chad Moore, Ian Sprowls, Shannon (Anthony) Cicconetti, Lori (Eric) Jones, Tasha Sprowls, Travis Sprowls, Heidi (Brandon) Inkrott, Jared Sprowls, Mellisa (Joel) Martinez, Eric Drouhard, Ryan Drouhard; great-grandchildren Alexis, Carter, Kaeden, Karson, Camden, Ashley, Jace, Lilly, Luke; brother Richard (Billie) Sprowls; sister Rita Bachmann.
Rex was preceded in death by his brother Dr. Roger Sprowls and sister Roberta McCombs.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wooster Community Hospital and LifeCare Hospice for their loving care of Rex during his illness.
