Richard Camden I

Richard Lee Camden I, 74, of Marietta, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Richard was born September 13, 1945 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to James Leroy and Edith {Oliver} Camden.

He attended Williamstown Schools.

Richard married Gwenlyn Lott on July 3, 1966.

He worked for Fenton Art for 37 years, retiring in 2006. Richard also drove for Ohio Valley Cab on the weekends. He was a member of Church of God in Williamstown before moving to Marietta where he belonged to the Church of God on Colegate. Richard was an avid Roller Skater. He also truly enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher. Richard enjoyed traveling with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, walking, gardening, games, jigsaw puzzles, cooking, and playing softball for the church league, where his team was district champions back to back.

Richard will be deeply missed by his wife Gwenlyn;  children Tina (Don) Noland of Belpre, Ohio, Tammy Camden and Richard Lee Camden II;    grandchildren Ashley Benson, Joshua Benson, Heather Jewell and Alisa Buck;  great-grandchildren Hannah. Isiah, Kieran, Teona, Ian, Michael, Tyler Jr., and Liberty.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Erma Davis, James Samuel and Robert Camden.

Friends may call Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta.  Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Hess officiating.  Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Park.
