Richard Clair Campbell, 90, of Ashland, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Kingston Nursing Home.
Richard was born April 22, 1925 in San Diego, California to William B. and Lois {Shear} Campbell.
Richard served in the United States Navy during WWII.
He married Mary Elizabeth Johnson on August 16, 1947. She passed on February 27, 2016.
Richard worked for the United States Postal Service where he retired after 27 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Salem. Richard enjoyed working with his hands; building, fixing and helping others.
Richard will be deeply missed by his children Richard C. (Marilyn) Campbell Jr. of Loveland, CO and Thomas W. (Carolyn) Campbell of Poughkeepsie, NY; grandchildren Andrea (Ernie) Strick of Loveland, CO and Amber (Chris Cronin) Campbell of Aurora, CO; great-grandchildren Brendon and Molly Strick.
Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary of 68 years, daughter Debbie Campbell, granddaughter Jessica Campbell, brothers James Campbell and William F. (Melba) Campbell, and a sister Barbara A. Detrow.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Arman officiating.
