Richard Francisco, 72 of Ashland, passed away Friday April 26, 2024 in Ashland surrounded by his family. Richard was born August 4, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan to Basil and Evon (Smith) Francisco.
Richard graduated from Ashland High School in 1969 and worked as a truck driver most of his life. He spent a lot of time traveling as he was a kind, free spirit who never settled down in one place for too long. He frequently spoke of the importance of family and how much he loved each and every one of them. Richie had a passion for music, writing, and storytelling that he loved to share. He was a member of several social clubs and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; which was obvious by the smile he shared whenever he entered a room. Rich was a staunch supporter of cannabis reform and attended several fundraising and political events supporting Ohio's legalization efforts over the years and was so proud when the people of Ohio chose to make it accessible.
Richard will be deeply missed by his children Brandy (Sam) Sheaffer of Jeromesville and Jake (Misty Tester) Foster of Ashland; grandchildren Zoe (Thomas Foster) Pifer, Jossalyn (Chris) Dipetro, Travis Armbruster, Lilah Foster, Drake Foster, and Alaynna Foster; great-grandchildren Thomas Foster and Alaia Dipetro; brothers Ronnie Francisco and Chip (Tamara) Andrew's; and sisters Venita Bergman and Tresea Brand.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Flo Francisco, and his son Luke Cline.
Friends and family may join us for a celebration of his life July 7, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Ashland. Memorial contributions may be made to Brandy Sheaffer.
