Richard Long

Richard J. Long, 70, of Wadsworth, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Akron City Hospital.

Richard was born June 2, 1947 in Ashtabula, Ohio to David Sr. and Shirley {Pier} Long.

He graduated from Geneva High School in 1968.

He married Debra Sue Russell on June 10, 1975. She survives.

Richard retired from LUKE Engineering after 30 years. He loved riding motorcycles, fishing, building puzzles, and especially being outdoors.

Richard will be deeply missed by his wife; son Jason R. Long of Doylestown; brothers David (Gretchen) Long of Austinburg, Ohio, Robert Long of Ashtabula, Ohio, Charles (Sharon) Long of Austinburg, Ohio; sisters Donna (Bob) Gulley of AL, June (Ray) Bailey of Milford, Ohio, Helen Alexander of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Marie Sands of Austinburg, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his son Steven, parents, brother John, sisters Carolyn and Karen.

Friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 12 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville.  Funeral services will be Tuesday at 12 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
