Richard Floyd Manning, 81, went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 19, 2024, while residing at Avenue at Wooster and in the care of Hospice.

Richard was born on March 23, 1943, and was raised with his family of 9 in Salem, OH.

After graduation, He worked as a draftsman at Hunt Valve in Salem, where he met Patricia (Griffith), who became his loving wife of 54 years. He then went on to receive his Mechanical Engineering Technology degree at Kent State University and moved to Norton, Ohio, where he worked for Engineering companies, the Post Office, and The University of Akron. He and Pat raised their family and lived in Norton for 48 years.

In days of better health, he enjoyed playing on church softball and basketball teams, and especially looked forward to golfing with his brothers.

He is preceded in death by Patricia, his parents, a sister and 2 brothers.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Valerie (Brian); his son, Kevin; his 2 grandsons, Scott (Samantha), and Andrew (Hope); and his great-grandson, Theodore; as well as 2 brothers and a sister.

In lieu of a funeral service, the family wishes to honor Richard (Dick) by spending the upcoming Christmas holiday week with their precious loved ones. Online tributes, stories, and memories about Richard (Dick) may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.

Interment will be at Damascus Cemetery.
