Richard Mast

Richard "Dick" Mast, 86, of Smithville, died Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Brenn Field Nursing Center, in Orrville.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Friday at 11am at Grace Church with Pastor Robert D. Fetterhoff officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Richard was born October 26, 1929 in Millersburg to Ray and Erma {Gardner} Mast.
He graduated from Goshen College in 1951. He married Joyce Miller on August 12, 1951. Richard then earned a Masters Degree in mathematics from Bowdoin College. He taught high school math for over 40 years in Wayne and Holmes Counties. Richard coached basketball for over 20 years.
He was an active member of Grace Church and taught Bible studies. During his retirement, Richard enjoyed traveling with his wife, Joyce.
Dick will be deeply missed by sons Mike (Julie) Mast of Orrville and Rex (Gina) Mast of Wooster; grandchildren Andy, Rachel, Amy, and Mark Mast; step-grandchildren Julie (Rich) Fitzer and Valerie Rodi; great-grandchildren Leanah and Addison; sisters Betty (Ralph) Martin of Elkhart, IN, Mary Ellen (Wes) Martin and Ruth Ann (Jim) Oswald all of Orrville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, who died March 29, 2015.
