Richard "Dick" William Parr, 72, of Orrville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Akron City Hospital in Akron.
Friends may call Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Nelson Carter officiating. Dick was born July 24, 1940 in Zanesville, Ohio to Rev. Dayton and Geneieve Parr.
Dick married his lovely Bride Donna on September 8, 1962. She survives.
He was a self-employed truck driver and partner with his son Rich for 15 years prior to his retirement in 2001. He had a strong Christian faith and was noted for his duty and devotion to his family and many friends. His capacity for compassion and kindness towards others serves well as an example for us who are left behind.
Dick was a craftsman, artist and fabricator of the highest caliber. Dick simply did not know the meaning of the phrase "It can't be done"!
He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family.
Dick will be deeply missed by his wife Donna; children Lisa (Bruce) Putnam of Massillon, Rich Parr of Orrville; grandchildren Tyler and Braydon Putnam; sisters Georgiana (Duane) Brown and Patricia Parr.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
