Robert A. “Bob” Baker, 96, of Wooster, died Monday, August 5, 2024 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.
Bob was born May 15, 1928 in Wooster, Ohio to Donald and Sevilla {Parks} Baker.
He graduated from Wooster High School. He served in the US Army.
He married Betty Ernst on April 30, 1950. She died May 8, 2013.
He worked for Bogner Construction and Rubbermaid for 48 years, where he furthered his education in engineering. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 68. He enjoyed reading, crosswords, cars, woodworking, photography, bird watching and being in nature.
Bob will be deeply missed by his sons Paul (Rhonda) Baker of Loudonville, Robert L. (Rebecca Palmer) Baker of Wooster; grandchildren Allen Smith, Kady (Richard) Jenkins, Jesse Smith, Lyndsey (Joe Wargo) Smith, Morgen Baker; great-grandchildren Jason, Lincoln Jenkins and Jackson Wargo; brother Dallas Baker; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Betty Baker, brother Dean Baker, and daughter Yvonne Baker, great-granddaughter Rhiannon Jenkins.
Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster is assisting the family. There will be no services held. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
