Robert L. Eby, 85, of Wooster, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 2 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster, OH 44691.
Robert was born November 19, 1928 in Farmersville, Ohio to Orville and Clara Mae {Shell} Eby.
Robert graduated from Ohio State University with a Masters Degree.
He married Virginia {Brown} on March 18, 1950. She died on December 10, 2011.
Robert retired from the OARDC after 30 years of service. He worked for Landes and Landes Real Estate for several years. Robert was an active member of United Methodist Church of the Cross for many years. He enjoyed gardening especially tomatoes. Robert loved spending time with his family. He had a song for every occasion and loved sharing his gift with everyone he could.
Robert will be deeply missed by his children Steve Eby of Wooster, Connie (Pete) Van Buren of Ann Arbor, MI, Becky Maloney of Wooster; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, brother Darell.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia, of 61 years, son Gary, son-in-law Mike and granddaughter Collette.
