Robert Jester

Robert M. Jester, 72, of Wooster, died Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Friends may call Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kyle Gould and Robin Dillon officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Rob was born August 6, 1946 in Wooster to Robert Thurman and Josephine {Barbera} Jester.

Rob attended Triway High School.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970.  Rob was a proud U.S. Army veteran who succumbed to illness related to his military service.

He married Sue Lemar on March 20, 1971.

Rob retired from Frito Lay after 33 years. He was a member of Oak Chapel United Methodist Church. Rob was a member of GWRRA and the American Legion Post #68.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his wife where they traveled to all 49 continental states, including Alaska.  Rob was an outdoorsman, he loved to go camping, fishing and hunting.  He was known for his sense of humor and showed his love of children through his portrayal of Saint Nick every holiday season.

Rob will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 ½ years; children Robbin (Scott) Stanford of Wooster, Todd (Brad Kamer) Jester of Hendersonville, TN and Jeff Jester of Wooster; grandchildren Alex (Daniel) Bennett, Anna Stanford, Dakota Jester, Treyton Jester, Madison Jester; sister Pam (Don) Schondel of Orrville; brother-in-law Bill Braucher.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents, sister Susan Braucher, and many aunts and uncles.
