Robert E. Ladd, 88, of Wooster, passed away June 29, 2015 at West View Healthy Living, in Wooster.

Robert was born February 6, 1927 in Norwich, Vermont to Charles and Josephine {Whitman} Ladd.
He attended grade school in Norwich, and graduated from Thetford Academy after serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Robert worked for 39 years at Dartmouth College, and retired in 1991. He was a collector of antiques, especially bells. Robert enjoyed working on his mini farm, where he raised oxen. He cherished his horses, and liked to produce maple syrup. Robert had a big, infectious grin that greeted everyone who met him.
Robert will be deeply missed by his wife Barbara, of 66 years, of Wooster; daughter Brenda (Robert) Ajtaji of Wooster; grandchildren Kimberly (Nathan) Stewart of Sterling, VA, Adam (Lily) Ajtaji of South Riding, VA; great-granddaughter Harper Ajtaji; siblings John Ladd of Colchester, VT, Rose (Ladd) Bender of Carbondale, IL; sisters-in-law Dorothy Ladd of Shelburne, VT and Joan (Harry) Brainerd of East Corinth, VT; brothers-in-law Kenneth (Louise) Thompson of East Corinth, VT and Norman Thompson of Colchester, VT; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his brothers Fredrick, Carl, and Paul Ladd; sisters-in-law Janet Ladd and Margaret Thompson; and nephew Loren Ladd.
