Robert "Bob" John Smith, 73, of Wooster, died Saturday, February 04, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Grace Church with Pastor Bob Fetterhoff officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Refuge Outreach Worldwide or Grace Church, 4599 Burbank Rd. Wooster, Ohio 44691.
Bob was born December 3, 1943 in Elyria, Ohio to Benjamin Vincent and Dorothy June {Brenisen} Smith.
Bob attended Bliss College and was honorably discharged after 6 years of service in the National Guard.
He married Carol Streit on October 30, 1976.
Bob worked in sales for most of his life, most recently at Pride of the Hills Manufacturing and owner of FMS LLC. He was a member of Grace Church. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, shooting and boating. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family and loved his dogs.
Bob will be deeply missed by his wife Carol; children Matt (Nikki) Smith, Amy (Curt) Murray both of Wooster, Hillary (Joe) Egert of Jackson Twp., Michael (Kayla) Smith of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren Nathan, Grace, Taylor, Ian, Lane, Audrey, Brock, Elliott, Felix, Ari, Mirabella; brothers Bill (Harriet) and Ben (Sandi) Smith; sister Susan (Bill) Marn; beloved dog Chudley.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to extend extreme gratitude to LifeCare Hospice of Wayne County and The James Cancer Center at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
