Robert L. "Bob" Stauffer was called Home to our Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2017. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Born October 28, 1937, to Paul and Bertha Stauffer, Bob, to those who knew him, always approached life with a flexed bicep and an extra-large Polar Pop.
Bob attended Kenmore High School in Akron, Ohio, and received his degree from Hammel Actual Business College and took courses at The University of Akron. He served as a Paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany, from 1955-1958 where he met his wife of 58 years, Elisabeth.
He began his career as a tax auditor for the State of Ohio then moved into the private industry at Summit Steel as a controller. From there, Bob worked at Wayne Steel as treasurer and finished his career as Vice President of Finance and part owner.
Bob was actively involved in his community, Wooster, by giving generously of his time and donations. He also enjoyed mowing his lawn, "crunching numbers" on his calculator, and entertaining others with war stories. We all know he liked to tell stories.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bertha Stauffer. Bob is survived by his wife, Elisabeth; children, Dennis and Lisa, and their spouses, Judy and Jeffrey; six grandchildren: Linsey, Ashley, Kaley, Bobby, Sara, and Jacob; and one great-grandchild, Camden.
"Opa," you leave behind a legacy of love. You will be missed and are loved by all.
